They are composed of stainless steel wires and brackets that move the teeth, through the use of pressure, into the ideal position to correct the misalignment. The brackets attach to each tooth and the archwire, the main wire used to apply pressure to the teeth, is threaded through them. Conventionally, the brackets in braces required elastic ties or bands to hold the archwire in a certain position, but self-ligating braces are capable of maintaining the archwire on their own. Invisalign Braces
Invisalign braces are clear plastic molds, or retainers, that straighten a patient's teeth. During the use of these retainers, our Walnut dentist will fit the patient with a new mold every two weeks as the teeth begin to move in place. Though removable, the patient wears the Invisalign braces at all times except when eating. The amount of retainers a patient accumulates during the complete process, which lasts about as long as traditional braces, is about 18 to 30. The popularity of Invisalign braces is mainly due to the clear material that, unlike traditional braces, is largely unnoticeable. The removable nature of the braces also allows the wearer to maintain a normal teeth cleaning routine and are less restrictive when it comes to food.
